Tomorrow (11/23), I'll be at the Koi Krafters Fair in Alhambra from 10-3. It's my first non-Muckenthaler event, so I'm a bit nervous. But maybe I'll make some new friends, huh?
Anyway, hope to see you there!

Now, on to other business:
It's getting chillier now in California so I'm branching out to scarves and other knitted and crocheted items on my Etsy (ThreadsofInsanity). These items are not upcycled, recycled, or organic unless noted, but they are in my shop because they help represent the range of my creative interests (i.e. not only shiny things).
These are not the kind of scarves that one normally finds in stores. No, these are special scarves. For example, take the one pictured above and the one below. They were inspired by some literature that you may have heard of: A Tale of Two Cities and the Sherlock Holmes stories. How? you may ask. They don't look particularly French Revolution-like or reminiscent of turn-of-the century London.
These two scarves were knit using a binary code converter that translated words, names, and phrases associated with the abovementioned works of literature into 1s and 0s. Geeky and nerdy at the same time while looking fabulous!
So those up there are on sale at my Etsy right now. Also, I have the granny square two-color scarf in black and white. Pretty straightforward. Cute and stylish.
Next up is this lovely blue-green scarf. It's fluffy, extra-long (you can see how long it is at my Etsy), and comes in a bunch of beautiful colors!
Under that is the UCLA scarf. I go there, ergo, I made a school spirit scarf. It's an infinity scarf, so it goes around and around and around. No messy ends to bother with. I love the patterning of the stitches on it - For knitters, it's called a seed stitch. For non-knitters, look at the subtle bumpiness that gives it a bit of depth and texture. Cool, huh?
Last up is the lacy crocheted scarf. Like the name says, it's lacy, perfect for California. I have a couple of colors made up but like with all my other scarves, I can whip up the same thing in any color just for you!
Again, I hope to see you at the Koi Krafters craft boutique tomorrow from 10-3! And if you miss it, never fear. You can always find me here or on Etsy.
